High Oil Preassure
Flew with a pilot recently who aborted the flight after noticing high oil pressure just after engine start. He surmised that any indication outside of the green arc was unsatisfactory. He stated that his instructor had canceled previous flights for the same reason. We then discussed the fact that the unusually cold temperature here in Miami was the contributing factor making the oil more viscous than usual, therefore the high pressure indication. I demonstrated this theory by restarting the engine and waiting approximately three minutes, and voila, the pressure dropped to the green range. Lesson learned! I advised the pilot to school his CFI after the flight (and the Chief Pilot ðŸ¤) #Knowledge=Safety
